Managing Director, Communications & Government Relations, CAA
Ian Jack directs the national public education and lobbying activities for the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA). Founded in 1913, CAA advocates on issues of concern to its members, including: road safety, the environment, mobility, infrastructure and consumer protection.
He is a public affairs strategist with extensive knowledge of advocacy and communications gained through 25 years in national journalism and public service roles.
Prior to joining CAA, Ian served as Deputy Commissioner of Public Affairs for the Competition Bureau of Canada. At the Bureau, Ian provided strategic advice to the Commissioner, and directed the Bureau’s communications and corporate stakeholder relations activities.
Ian has also worked as Director of Communications to a federal Industry Minister; as an Account Director at Hill and Knowlton, an international lobbying firm; and as a reporter and editor for the Financial Post and Canadian Press. He has two daughters, Nathalie and Anna, and lives in Gatineau, Quebec.
