In 2012, Michelle Carinci joined Lottotech, the operator of the Loterie Nationale in Mauritius.  Throughout her 40-plus years of experience in the lottery and gaming industry, Michelle has demonstrated proven leadership in operations and innovation.

Prior to joining Lottotech, Michelle was CEO of Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) for 10 years. Under her leadership ALC was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. Personally, Michelle was recognized four times as one of the top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada.

Michelle previously held senior positions at GTECH and British Columbia Lottery Corporation.  In 2006, she was inducted into the Lottery Hall of Fame.

As an elected member of the Executive Committee of the World Lottery Association (WLA) she was a founding Co-chair of the Responsible Gaming Committee that led the development of the WLA responsible gaming principles and framework in 2006.

The principles acknowledge that gaming operators play an important role in helping to prevent problem gambling in individuals who take part in games of chance.

The seven principles address areas of player protection, collaboration with other stakeholders, research, promotion, informed player choice, monitoring and reporting.

As a mother of two young women and grandmother, Michelle continues to make a positive difference in society by sharing her story with women around the globe inspiring them "to pursue their life's passions to the fullest."
